Modified Nerf Nitefinder/SSPB Integration!

Hey guys!  I've been meaning to post this for a while, but I finally got around to taking pics of this!  If you can remember in the Sspb post, I mentioned that I was going to integrate it into something.  There were a lot of good guesses, some that I've never thought of, but I was really integrating it into a Nitefinder!  I've always wanted to do this mod ever since I saw Drac do this mod in his video here.  However, he didn't coupler the blasters, which I was disapointed with.

4B Updates: A Sneek Peek + Some Fun!

After much use, my 4b has still held up.  However, the handle didn't hold up as well:

So after much contemplation, I decided that I would do a forward pump replacement.  But in order to preform such a mod cleanly, I decided to also minimize it:

CHOP!

I still need to get the pump from the store, so look out for the finished product in a future post.

Just to prove that its still as strong as ever, here is a vid I made for fun:

And if you were wondering:

SSPB Update: Oh Yes I Did....

Remember in the last post about the SSPB, I said that I might tank expand it?  Well....

I did.  >:)

I messed up drilling the hole. :\

This tiny blaster totally packs a punch.  Its couplered ranges used to be 50-60 feet (flat), but now, this thing is hitting an amazing 65-70 feet!

I'll let the pics explain the rest:

Whoops...  Slightly crooked.
Internal Shot

I expanded the tank using a stub of cpvc and an end cap, following this write-up.  Wasn't really hard, but it was slightly tricky when cutting the hole in the tank.

Once again, I'll say that everyone should go out and buy an SSPB.  They are so cheap, and so effective.  However, some SSPBs are a bit finicky, so I suggest buying in bulk.
When I have a chance to go to the store, I am buying a lot more of these for experimentation.  I like them better than Jolts (sorry Soloz1).  :)

Update:  I have re-range tested the SSPB, and it is hitting a lot farther than I originally thought!  It is now getting a whopping 70-80 feet!

Modified Nerf SSPB!

This is my modified Nerf SSPB (Secret Strike Pocket Blaster).  Not much has been done to this blaster, I've only couplered it following this write up by revisionfive.  Im trying to decide weather or not I should tank expand it to get even better ranges than I am currently getting.
I am currently hitting 55- 60' flat with this blaster!  In my opinion, the SSPB is one of the most underestimated blasters that Nerf has made.

Now on to the pics:

Coupler front shot
Internals

How I cut the shell.
Inside shot

This was a very quick and easy modification.  I literally completed this within 5 minutes!  I suggest that everyone go and buy an SSPB.  They are quite the cute blaster and get outstanding ranges.  (This one actually hurts a lot too!)
Sadly, this wasn't a personal build, its for a friend of mine.  Im planning on integrating it into another blaster, can you guess which?

Review: Nerf Vortex Vigilon!

I just got this amazing little blaster on my birthday and was at first dissappointed when I opened it up.  I mean come on, why did it have to be a Vortex?  But after toying around with it for a little bit, I realized it was awesome!  Initially, I was very curious to see how this gun worked.  I opened it up and was quite surprised.
The spring that launches the discs is called a torsion spring.  If you have deploy, it is just like that annoying little spring that's causing problems in the front of the gun that moves the clipwell around.  Anyways, it is surprisingly strong.  I have been un-able to range test it, due to strong winds lately, but will try to do it within the next couple of days.  Unlike most Nerf blasters, Vortex blasters are not air-powered.  They basically give the disk a big whack and send them flying.  The Vigilon has a lot of annoying safety locks.  Unless you push or pull all of them at the right time light the disc would do, then you will be un-able to load your gun when it does not have a disc.

I have seen some complaints about the discs veering off to the left, but I have not had a problem with that.  I personally do not like the loading with the Vigilon, since it is a not clip-system of some sort, but that's just me.  My siblings complain about the discs hurting more than the regular foam darts, and I must admit that they do not give very much when they hit.

Overall, it's a decent gun, but I have not figured out and mods for it, which takes away 50% of the gun.  If you would like a blaster that you can pull out of the box and get decent ranges (I'm guessing it hits around 30 ft), I would definitely recommend it.

Well that's it.  This is my first gun review, so let me know what you think and how I could improve or if I forgot to mention something you like to know!
Thanks!

Roamer

Pause Edit:  Fixed the post.  Sorry for any confusion.

The Ertl Rapid Fire Shotgun is a 12 dart, pump action, auto- rotating blaster, made by the company Ertl.  The Rapid Fire Shotgun, or RFSG for short, comes with the blaster and 12 mega darts.

Hey Guys!

Well everyone, I am the new blogger! Just a little Nerf background info: Pause introduced me to Nerf blasters about 6-8 months ago. Since then, I have done nothing but Nerf! I'm currently working on a top secret mod, that will be announced shortly. My arsenal includes:
1 Recon
1 AT
1 Barricade
1 1/2 NF
2 Longstrikes
1 Deploy
1 Stampede
1 Raider
1 Maverick
2 Fireflys
1 *extremely* rusted Titan

...and couple of other blasters. Will try to post about every other day for the next month to 2 months or so, at least one post per blaster, if not more. Look next week for the top secret project to be announced!

Update: Another Author!

Hey guys, another update.

As the title of this post implies, The Nerf Pause is going to be having another author.

Some of you might have noticed that this blog is *mainly* focused on modifications, and not so much on Nerfing news.  Lately, I've been getting more busy with school and haven't had a lot of time to Nerf as I once did last year. That was why I recruted the help of Soloz1, however it seems that we are both currently stuck in a rut, in terms of modding.

With that said, in attempt to keep this blog as active as possible with modifications, my personal friend, Roamer, will now be authoring on this blog.

Roamer is a very ambitious and innovative modder with many great and original ideas.  He has many cool modifications in the works, including a very, VERY special one (I'll let him explain that).

Don't worry!  This does not mean that Soloz1 and I will no longer be authoring on this blog!  We both really want to mod much more often, however at the moment, we simply can't.
We are trying our best to entertain you guys with new mods, just give us a little grace so that we can get back on our feet. :)

Update: Yeah, Another Page.

So I figured that most people have no idea what a brass breech is, or what PAS stands for, so I decided to make a page for Commonly Used Nerf Terminology.

Thank you Spartan!
As I state on the page, I take no credit whatsoever on the creation of this guide.  All credit goes to Spartan of the NerfSG forums for taking the time and effort to make this.

However, not everyone has a NerfSG account and you can't view the forum without one, so I decided to "borrow" Spartan's post.
Again, I take no credit, I just want to help the new modder who has no clue what in the world "Deadspace" is.

Hope this helps!

Update: New Pages Added + Other Goodies!

Updates!

Some of you may have noticed, but I have recently added some new pages to this blog:

The Contracts page is for anyone who is interested in contracts from me or soloz1.

The "My Wishlist" page is a page that lists some blasters that I am interested in buying or
trading for.

Finally, like Tactical Tag, I have relocated the chatbox to its own page.
The Chatroom is where you can chat with other Nerfers.

Now, on to the mods...

I am still slowly working on my Longshot project.  Longshots do take a while to mod (If you are doing it correctly.)

Also, I've recently resumed working on a very cool project.  I'll let you guys guess what it is again...  (Some of you people all ready know what this is.)

Hopefully I can finish it before the end of this week.  Once its finished, I'll make an awesome post on it.  :)
I apologize for being kinda slow on mods lately.  School was pretty busy (plus I got kinda lazy), but hopefully I can get out more mods for you guys in the near future!

Leave a comment below as to what you think I'm working on is!
